Augmented Reality

It would appear that VR, augmented reality is a very big thing now days. With the increased development of technologies involving the visual augmentation, I am exploring the possibility of incorporating such technologies into my curriculum. I've introduced 3D visualization involving polarized and anaglyph platforms in the past, but VR will be new, challenging and more fun! Any excuse to use more tech, right?! :)

I have also decided to return to my biology/research roots. I want to find ways to incorporate more biology into my 3D modeling and animation interests and introduce biological systems to students interested in 3D. The banner on the top of my blog is an example of artwork I would like students to engage in.

The video above requires anaglyph glasses (cyan/red) to appreciate the 3D effect.  The animation was created a few years ago using Cinema 4D.
