Low-cost ideas for courses...

Always trying to find low-cost ways to equip my courses with tools that students will be able to use. For my Architectural design courses, instead of buying saws manufactured for the purpose of model making (using balsa or basswood), I have decided to go with day-to-day tools that function similarly or identically and with a much lower price tag. So, instead of using a handsaw for wood work, I will be buying mini-hacksaws.

At least half the price and cheaper to replace. Buying materials from traditional arts & crafts vendors is often more expensive, so always looking for "other" vendors who sell similar or identical products at a much lower price. Consideration towards cost goes a long way to determining whether a course/program makes or breaks.

Other low cost ideas to come...
