- Open Photoshop without opening the video file.
- Go to File -> Import -> Video Frames to Layers.
- Click on the Make Frame Animation checkbox.
- Goto file and Save for Web to finally create your animated gif.
At step 2 and 4, a window will pop-up allowing you to make numerous adjustments. I think most of them are self-explanatory.
Sometimes, if quality is not absolutely crucial, converting video to an animated gif is a convenient and flexible way to show your video. Smaller sizes and w/o sound, of course. I use this when prototyping projects or wanting to upload to the internet.
