Photoshop: Converting Videos to Animated Gifs

Photoshop is capable of converting your video files to animated gifs! Yay! I just discovered this a few weeks ago and wanted to share this fact.
  1. Open Photoshop without opening the video file.
  2. Go to File -> Import -> Video Frames to Layers.
  3. Click on the Make Frame Animation checkbox.
  4. Goto file and Save for Web to finally create your animated gif.
At step 2 and 4, a window will pop-up allowing you to make numerous adjustments. I think most of them are self-explanatory.

Sometimes, if quality is not absolutely crucial, converting video to an animated gif is a convenient and flexible way to show your video. Smaller sizes and w/o sound, of course. I use this when prototyping projects or wanting to upload to the internet.

The following is an example. This video of the t-rex was converted from a short video to the animated gif you see.
